Mounting my new bog oak wall hanging.

Mounting this piece was an absolute nightmare. Making sure all the pieces would sit flush on the board, parallel with one another and at a uniform distance apart was quite a challenge. It did turn out rather nice though.

I laid out each piece with spacers separating them, marked the edges and marked where the screw hole should go making sure there was enough material to screw in to.
Below is the first piece screwed into place as a practice before painting the board.

After all the holes were drilled i painted the board and started fitting each piece with glue and screws.

This is the piece all mounted up and ready to go on the wall. you would not believe the amount of times i had to wash my hands to keep the board clean. I guess that's the problem with using black wood on a white background.

I have had a lot of good feedback from people waking through the workshop and fellow students which is always nice. I feel this piece really encompasses what i am trying to achieve and if people think its beautiful then i am a happy man.

I will post on how the Cherry piece is going shortly. I'm half way through mounting and will finish tomorrow. . . . . hopefully.
